Apr. 6th, 2024 07:43 pmOMG Today was LONG. It wasn't TERRIBLE but like. . .sometime after break I was ready to throw hands with my coworkers and my customers. Some old man told me that he'd dropped some change down behind the self checkout lane. So I went and looked behind the thing and could not find it. I told him so and went to help someone else. A few minutes later we notice he's still standing in front of the lane WHILE THERE'S A LINE. So we were like "what's wrong" and he said "i'm waiting for someone to give me my change."
Well, I'm waiting for any of my anime husbands to become real we don't get what we want. He said "it fell down under there" and pointed to the self check out. Okay. Buddy. Pal. There IS no UNDER THERE on self check out. The things are build in to the floor. So my coworker goes "oh, you mean under the cooler"
The cooler. That's full of probably 200 sodas. And the guy said yes. So I tried to tug it out a bit and we couldn't see anything but at that point, all the drinks fell out and my coworker went oh well now that it's started, we can pull the sodas out and move the cooler out.
Bitch. Tell him no. The whole time we're doing this, the guy is cackling to himself. GUESS WHAT WASN'T UNDER THE COOLER.
Then she went to break and I had to spend the next half hour putting the cooler back in place and putting the drinks back.
My coworker who made me move the cooler went "I used to work with old people and if we can't show that we're doing everything we can to help them, they'll go complain." YEAH. SO. It's cause not enough people tell them to go fuck themselves. If our managers had seen us doing that they'd have fired our asses for wasting time on a customer that wasn't a red light.
I told another coworker of mine about it and she went OH HELL NO. I'd have told him he should have held on to his money better.
Just. . .the rules are if a customer is unhappy or needs more than us checking them out, we send them to service and make people who make more than we do deal with them. A lot of times i'll handle it myself it's something I can do but also. . .NO.
