I lost my cellphone in the back of the lyft yesterday and when I contacted them, they were basically like "yeah if they find it, we'll have the driver get in touch, but we usually throw anything left in the backseat away".

I did contact the phone company and they did say that while they don't pay for replacements, they can give me a discount on one so I don't have to pay for a brand new phone and they can help me transfer everything over so when I get paid I need to do that.

Still mad as hell, though.

I don't have another phone I can use in the mean time.

Unrelated, but I think I figured out where this YOI fic I'm working on is going so gonna try to finish that this week and I started slowly watching the donghua of MDZS again. I want ALL THE FICS of Wei Ying and Lan Zhan chaperoning the ducklings oml. It's my favorite thing.

Also reading Guardian and having a great time.

Gonna have some dinner and get a shower. I might do some word sprints or just go snuggle in bed and read.

I don't go in to work until mid morning tomorrow and then I'm off on Monday and I cannot wait oml.

Ugh, that sucks. At my last job, we found a lot of phones and we basically treated them like gold and did our best to get them back to their owners.

I need to get back to Guardian. I finally got the second volume but I've been so busy. ;_;

We do that too. Like anything that gets left basically gets stuck in a safe in the manager's office until we can get ahold of the person it belongs to. I was so baffled at the idea that they wouldn't even require the driver to LOOK for the thing.

I've had the first volume since it released but I was in the middle of MDZS at the time and didn't have time to read it. I'm gonna wait until I finish the first volume to order the second one so if something happens and I don't have time right away, I won't be sitting on a volume I haven't finished. (I did that w/TGCF and then I stalled out like three volumes in and now I've got the whole series sitting there but haven't finished it. I'll get back to it at some point but still.) I'm enjoying Guardian so far! I was reading it in the breakroom at lunch and kept having to remind myself I was surrounded by coworkers to keep from yelling out loud. A Tumblr mutual who I've known since the LJ days LOVES it so I'm excited to finally get to it.

I stalled out in vol. 6 and at this point I feel like I kinda need to re-read it in one go (well, over the course of a month or something) because it's been so long now. ^^;;

I really liked Guardian vol. 1 but have been so busy/burned out that I only finally remembered to buy the second volume. I'm going to be working on a lot of sorting/cleaning over the next few months so maybe while I do all of that, I can get books in order and actually read some of what's been piling up. (whoops!)

They throw away anything they find even cellphones?? No holding period of like, even a week for the customer to at least try and flag that they lost something? That seems like such a bad policy.

That's what I thought. They're supposed to give you twenty four hours to report something missing before they toss it, but they also said that like. . .most drivers just throw everything away because it's a hassle to deal with turning it in and I'm like ". . .GREAT". I'm gonna see about getting a replacement on payday but it still infuriates me because like. . .all of my shit is on there.
