TODAY WAS SO LONG OMG.
Oct. 22nd, 2025 11:43 pmSpent the morning on the phone and in online chats trying to sort out the banking issue from last night. Finally got it though I still have to wait for the company I pay the rent through to get back to me that my info is updated.
Work was. . .weird. There were several odd issues with customers including a situation where we thought we should call the police but the store director told us we shouldn't get involved.
And as soon as I went in, two of my coworkers were already complaining about how they kept having to help the customers and how stupid all the customers were. They were saying it loudly IN EARSHOT of customers and when one of them said they'd told a customer that she needed to learn to read, I snapped. Cause we're getting our asses ripped by corporate continuously because our store isn't friendly any longer. (Also like, you're in retail. You're in customer service. You're going to have to. . .HELP the customers sometimes. Like. . .WHAT?)
So I reported the coworkers to my manager. I was like "I feel like I'm being a snitch, but ALSO. . ." and told her what had been said and she went "No. That's exactly the kind of thing we need to know. I'll address it with them and your name won't come up."
Like. . .it's not really a secret that we all get frustrated but like. . .these two complain constantly. I told one of my coworkers I had done it because we had discussed before how the one woman just talked to people like they were dogshit sometimes and then when the customer was mad, she'd hand them off to one of us and we're always like "THANKS."
So, IDK what will happen cause if manager says anything specifically that was said, coworkers are probably going to know it was me.
THEN later on. . .like. . .mine and coworker's breaks were SO FUCKING LATE. Like my lunch was an hour and a half late by the time I got back HER first break was two hours late and then my last break was half an hour late her lunch was an hour late.
My Team Lead and Area Manager came up to us and were like "Have you had your lunch yet?" to me and I was like "No." And then they turned to L and were like "and you haven't had your break?"
And she said "No. I just ran to the bathroom in case I didn't get one."
So like. . .they were like "They're supposed to be sending (someone) over to take over so you can go on lunch." But Team Lead said "It's also possible he went ahead and took his break because sometimes he just hears 'break' and goes on his."
Then team lead said "They didn't tell us they were an hour and a half late on breaks until JUST NOW."
I can't remember what happened but like, my area manager had the clipboard and he'd asked me a question to which the answer was "No, that hasn't happened yet." and he nodded and said something I didn't catch and then something that sounded like "about to start getting rid of people." and i said "what?" cause I wasn't sure if I was supposed to have heard him because auditory processing. And he went "It's been a FRUSTRATING day."
Sooo. . No idea what I'm walking in to tomorrow but I know that like. . .when I went up to the desk to find hand lotion, two of the girls on the desk were bitching about one of the other girls up there claiming SHE'D screwed up and then stopped when I got there and were like WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR? And I said "Hand lotion."
We did not have community hand lotion. WE SHOULD because we handle money all day and my skin is always dry but STILL.
They have a meeting sometime this week or next where all the people who work the desk meet up and air their grievances/get performance reviews and I'm assuming it's going to be a shit show because NONE of them can stand each other omg.
Anyway. Came home. Ate food, finished and posted Day 3 of All Ships and now I'm going to bed OML.
One more day of work and I can come home and not have to do SHIT for two days except things I want.
Woo.
